Fire breaks out in Hirkan National Park - UPDATED

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a statement on the fire broke out in Hirkan National Park, APA reports citing the Ministry.

“112” Call Center of the Ministry received information on the fire occurred in the Hirkan National Park nearby Yukhary Tangivan village of Lankaran. State Fire Control Department of the State Fire Control Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been involved in the site. 

According to the preliminary information, dry grass, bushes and trees are burning in 1.5 hectares in the mountainous area.
 
Personnel of the State Firefighting Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations, Staff of the Civil Defense Troops and South Regional Center, Employees of the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, local residents have been involved to extinguish the fire.

Currently, the work on extinguishing the fire is continued.

Fire has broken out in high upland area of Hirkan National Park, on the border with Yukhary Tangivan village of Lerik, Irada Ibrahimova, head of Press-service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.

Currently, workers of the National Park, other local bodies of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and Fire Protection Unit of the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan have been involved in the site.

As the fire has broken out in difficult relief area, the involvement of technical support posed some complications. Manual work is generally used to extinguish the fire.
