Fishing ship sunken in Azerbaijani sector of Caspian Sea - PHOTO

The organization of control over the floating crafts steering out to the Caspian Sea and the implementation of rescue operations are being continued by the Coast Guard of the State Border Service (SBS), the SBS told ONA.

On January 25, at about 21:00, an information was received by the nearby coast control division of the Coast Guard of SES regarding development of a hole on the ship hull, the ship’s exposure to sinking danger and emersion of need in rescue of crew members of the Idris fishing ship being in the Southern direction of the Caspian Sea, at Salyan roadstead, at a distance of 3.5 miles (6 km) from the coast.

Coast Guard Department carrying out immediate operative measures, sent a swimming tool with little capacity for rescue operations in this direction. As the hole of the ship was large, it was impossible to prevent water and 4 fishermen were rescued at about 10:15 p.m. Sinking of the ship was observed at about 11:00 p.m.

It was determined the persons, rescued by military servicemen of the Coast Guard of the State Border Service were Neftchala residents captain Talibov Alasgar Mammadali (1958), mechanic Mikayilov Alimadad Aghasadig (1963), sailor Ahmadov Aladdin Tapdig (1962), and sailor Novruzov Asgar Maharram (1982).
