Global coronavirus cases reached 11 million, ONA reports.

Worldwide, more than 6 million people (6,164,675) - or 51% of those infected with Covid-19 - have recovered from the deadly infection that emerged at a market in central China late last year.

The total number of fatalities recorded from the disease world over stood at nearly 524406.

The US is the worst-hit country with 2.7 million infections and almost 130,856 deaths.

Note that the number of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Azerbaijan has grown to 18,684. A total of 10,425 people over the entire period have recovered from the illness and been discharged from hospitals. 228 people died of coronavirus over the entire period, while 8,031 people are undergoing treatment in special regime hospitals.

The first coronavirus case was confirmed in Azerbaijan on February 28. A high alert was imposed in Azerbaijan on March 14 and a quarantine regime was introduced on March 24. The authorities began to ease the coronavirus lockdowns from April 27. Due to a surge in coronavirus incidence following mitigation of the quarantine measures, coronavirus lockdowns were re-imposed in Baku and other big cities for a period from June 21 to July 5.
