Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan called on people under age 40 to be vaccinated against measles.
The latest situation on measles in Azerbaijan has been clarified, Afag Aliyeva, Deputy Director of the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Health Afag Aliyeva said in the live broadcast of Lent.az, ONA reports.
Although the epidemical cases of neighboring countries are not recorded in Azerbaijan there are people infected with measles: “The main cause of the infection is the visit of foreigners to the country.”
According to A. Aliyeva, to prevent the spread of the disease, the Ministry of Health is taking measures to fully cover vaccination of people under the age of 40: “Vaccination campaign will continue till the end of April. We urge people under 40 who were not immunized against measles to go to polyclinics on the territory and to vaccinate. All polyclinics have appropriate vaccines.”
