“Armenia conducts policy of ethnic cleansing, genocide and aggression towards Azerbaijan in the last two centuries. As a result of this policy Armenia occupied 20% of Azerbaijani territories. Armenia turned into mono-ethnic state. However, Azerbaijan stayed committed to its multicultural values throughout history. The representatives of more than 80 ethnicities live alongside with the Azerbaijani population, including our Armenian citizens. These all are the obvious examples of multiculturalism”, said the Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations Mubariz Gurbanli at the discussion panel organized within the 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, ONA reports.
M.Gurbanli stated that more than 2500 mosques are operating in the country. The number of non-muslim religious communities reaches 33 in Azerbaijan.
