Russian ambassador to Iraq: "In Baghdad prisons remain Azerbaijani women"

“Today we can confidently talk about 64 Russian women and 58 children in the prisons of Baghdad… Assume their departure from Iraq in the next few months after registration of necessary documents”, - the Ambassador of Russia in Iraq Maksim Maksimov said, ONA reports.

He said that being with mothers in Iraq, children were born mostly outside of Russia — in Turkey, Syria and Iraq.

The Russian Ambassador also noted that in the prisons of Baghdad contained a citizen of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and other countries.

Earlier, the Commissioner for child rights under the President of Russia Anna Kuznetsova announced in a month, the return of some 50 Russian children from Iraq to their homeland.

10 Feb special plane EMERCOM of Russia delivered from Baghdad to Moscow of 27 children, together with mothers-citizens of Russia were detained in the prison of the capital of Iraq.
