Sabina Aliyeva: “Armenia’s ombudsman has never visited Azerbaijani hostages”

“The trial was open. The accused persons were provided with both a lawyer and an interpreter. That is, their rights are ensured,” the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Azerbaijan Republic Sabina Aliyeva told journalists in the trial of Armenian militants, ONA reports.

According to her, the Armenian ombudsman neither visited Azerbaijanis held as hostages in Armenia, nor interested in their situation, medical aid, and nutrition: “For about six years, two of our compatriots were held hostage there. During this time, the ombudsman has never interested in their condition. On the contrary, the Armenian ombudsman engaged only in political speeches, completely contrary to the philosophy of the institute.”
