The World Health Organization has commented on the opinions sounded by professor Onder Ergonul, who visited Azerbaijan as WHO’s Consultant, on condition in Azerbaijan regarding coronavirus, WHO’s Representation to Azerbaijan told ONA.
According to the Representation, this statement is his personal opinion and does not reflect the position of the WHO.
“Mandate of WHO is to define fields for development in every country as well as in Azerbaijan, to support strengthening the response measurement against COVID-19 threat. Contacting closely with the regional office and headquarter, WHO’s country office in Azerbaijan cooperates with the government in crucial fields including clinical management, infection prevention and control, as well as risk communication.
Taking the opportunity, WHO extends deep gratitude to the Government of Azerbaijan for its serious efforts on Covid-19 at local and international levels.”
Note that Turkish Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Onder Ergonul who visited Azerbaijan, observed and prepared a report regarding coronavirus stated that the situation in Azerbaijan may be very bad: “There are no centers for testing, no infection testing centers. It is a crucial thing.”
