MES establishes acceptance and sorting stations at border with Russia due to coronavirus threat

In order to stem the threat of spreading of coronavirus (COVID-19) on the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic, in accordance with the task assigned by the Azerbaijani Government, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has set up acceptance and sorting stations near the border crossing station of “Khanoba” situated on the territory of Khachmaz region and the border crossing station of “Samur” situated on the territory of Gusar region on the border with the neighboring Russian Federation, the press service of MES told ONA.

The MES’ professional medical brigades equipped with all kinds of up-to-date medical equipment are working at these stations functioning in the uninterrupted working mode. Thus, the persons having passed initial medical examination at the border crossing stations will be examined repeatedly at the acceptance and sorting stations, and the evacuation to a hospital with specially allocated hospital wards and beds for determining of more precise diagnosis of the persons in whom any suspicious symptom is detected, and the temporary accommodation in tents under quarantine regime of the persons in whom a suspicious symptom hasn’t been detected will be ensured.

All conditions necessary for normal living have been created at these stations with 20 tents in each of them allowing for accommodation of 100 people at the same time, there is no any problem regarding nutrition, provision with hygienic means, heating of tents, etc., and the sanitary and hygienic requirements have been fully satisfied. If necessary, the number of tents can be increased in a short time.
