The expert group has started its work on the draft charter of Games of Commonwealth Countries, ONA reports.
Details of the new event will be discussed and agreed on the two-day event to be held at the headquarters of the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk
Russia is the initiator of the multi-sports event for CIS countries. This idea was supported by the leaders of the CIS countries at the summit in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, in September 2018 and was reflected in the statement related to the World Games of Refugees.
The organization of Games on the basis of the National Festival of Sports, as well as to add Olympic and non-Olympic games, which gained popularity in CIS countries were noted on the document. The draft charter of the competition was prepared by the Russian Ministry of Sports and the CIS Executive Committee and sent to partners. Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan have confirmed the document. These countries have proposed to discuss the project in the higher bodies of the Commonwealth countries.
