Winner of Europa League will be known today

The final match of the 2018/19 European League will be played today.

English clubs Chelsea and Arsenal will face in the decisive match.

Not only Europe, but also the entire world will focus on the Baku Olympic Stadium, which is the largest sports facility in Azerbaijan. Baku, which has so far hosted European Games, Islamic Solidarity Games, Formula 1, as well as several world and continental championships, will now become the center of football.

The decisive match of the second-tier club tournament in Europe will be marked by a number of cases. VAR (Video assistant referee) system will be introduced for the first time in the European League. Also, the teams will include not 18 players, but 23 footballers.

The Baku Olympic Stadium has the opportunity to break the record for the final of a single match. The arena with 70,000 attendance capacity can break Moscow’s record of 62,000 in 1999.

As for the London derby, the teams will come out with a different mood. Chelsea qualifying for the Champions League from the Premier League, will fight for not ending the season without a title. The “aristocrats” intend to raise the trophy for the second time in the history of the European League.

Arriving in Baku two days ahead Arsenal aims to become the 5th England representative in the Champions League. This is an additional stimulus for the team as well as additional pressure. Unai Emery, who won this title in Spain three times, intends to make the same success with the Arsenal and make a record. For the first time in the history of Arsenal, they gained the next chance to win this award. Arsenal who lost to Galatasaray in 2000 in the final match hopes for the second chance.

Of course, there is certain pressure on Chelsea. This match may be the last one for Maurizio Sarri. Some of his players will bid farewell to London club in Baku.
