“We bought S-400 anti-missile complex from Russia because we needed it”, Movlud Chavushoglu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, said in his speech at the XI conference of the Turkish ambassadors, ONA’s local bureau reports.
Minister noted that there are some points that Turkey agrees or disagrees with Russia. “However relations with Russia continue transparently in order to maintain regional stability. At the same time, we attach importance to bilateral relations with Iran on regional issues. US sanctions imposed Iran damages countries in the region. For this reason, it is important that dialogue and diplomatic relations are built on sound principles.”
Cavushoglu stressed Turkey's efforts to establish peace and stability in the region reminded that Azerbaijan will host the VII Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States in October of the current year.
