Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has publicly invited his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump to visit Ukraine, ONA reports citing Ukrinform.
The head of state made the invitation ahead of a bilateral meeting in New York on Wednesday, September 25.
"It's not the first time I'm in the U.S. and New York, but I know that you've never been to Ukraine, and your predecessor also didn't find the time for that. Can you give me your word that you will come to our great country?" Zelensky said, addressing Trump.
"I will try," Trump replied.
He also said that he knew many great people from Ukraine.
"It's a country, I think, with tremendous potential," Trump said.
