Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has commented on the recognition of 1915 events as “Armenian Genocide” by the US Senate, ONA reports.
Turkish MFA has assessed adoption of the law draft and politicizing history is a discreditable example: “It is a provocative initiative aimed at prevention of development attempts of Turkish-US relations. The law does not have a legal ground. Such unfair decisions will not effect Turkey’s targets on protection its benefits in the region”.
And the Spokesperson of Turkish Presidential Administration Fahrettin Altin said the approval of the project would damage the relations between the two countries. He wrote on his “Twitter” account that the decision created a danger for the future of the Turkey-US relations: “We won’t make concession in our national security just because some members of Senate feel uneasy about our military operations in Syria. We expect that our Armenian brothers will not allow the US Congress to prevent the attempts to agree on a common stance in different opinions by means of scientific and academic methods”.
