Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who arrived in earthquake-hit Elazig province, has attended funeral ceremony of a mother and her son, who became victim of the earthquake, ONA reports citing NTV Channel.
Later delivering a speech, Erdogan has called for people not to believe in rumors.
"We have borne many earthquakes but the nation has risen above them patiently," said Erdogan at the ceremony.
He promised that the state will work swiftly to rescue people and restore infrastructure.
"We will not leave anyone without shelter in the quake-hit districts," he said, requesting people to exercise strength in their weakest hour.
The president has also visited the disaster-hit areas, including the Sursuru district, where rescue efforts are ongoing.
