“Our joint energy and transport projects with fraternal Azerbaijan allowed us to create a region of stability from the Caucasus to Anadolu,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, ONA’s Georgian bureau reports.
The Turkish President stated that these projects have turned the region into the center of the world in energy issues.
“We transformed our region into a center of energy-matter by adding the Trans Anatolian gas pipeline that we have implemented with Georgia and Azerbaijan to the Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan oil pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline with common opinion and strategic vision. We have also taken an essential step in the transport sector. Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) is a historical moment in this regard. The three friendly countries became connected in a very different way as a result of the opening of this railway line. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line represents an important line at the center of the corridor laying from London to China”, said Erdogan.
